We have had an eventful two weeks. Alison and I drove down to Katy to be with my mom after her back surgery. (In case you didn't know, Mom had a lumbar fusion operation for the degenerative disc in her lower back.) We were happy to be back at Mimi and Pops' house and ready to help.
Then, my dad ends up in the hospital with an obstruction in his small intestine. Talk about timing! I am so thankful that I was in Katy when both of my parents needed me. Dad and I had some quality Father-Daughter time in the hospital and he managed to be discharged without any surgery. Also, Alison got to spend lots of quality time with Mom's parents, Harlon and Frances (Popo and Momo). Alison LOVED playing with them (almost as much as playing and laughing with my parents' dog, Raider).
When we finally returned home, Alison was SO happy to see her Daddy! She showed him all the things she learned in Katy. She is now a pro at:
- super-fast crawling
- pulling up on anything and anybody
- turning pages and opening flaps in her books (or just eating her books)
- saying "Dada" "Dodo" and "Baba"
- letting go (once standing) and trying to balance herself on two wobbly legs

Wow she looks like she is wakeboarding or snowboarding as she learns to stand up.
