Big Sister

This summer, Alison will become a big sister. Her little brother is scheduled to arrive on July 11th! She seems to understand it just fine - if I ask what is in my tummy, she points to it and says "baby brother."

Right now, it is starting to warm up and we are excited to explore the great outdoors again. I dug out the tricycle (maybe Alison will actually do the pedaling this time!) and the swing set has already started to get some use. Matt has mentioned getting a pool (not permanent, the inflatable kind) so both Alison and Mommy are VERY excited about this!

At 2 &1/2, it amazes me how much Alison is changing every day. In case you are curious, here are her current favorites:
  • Foods: Alison still loves waffles and yogurt and now she eats cereal with milk (although the milk mostly dribbles down her chin - that spoon is tricky!) She also loves chips and salsa along with other mexican dinners!
  • Books: Alison is now into the search and find books. She is very patient with locating whatever object you are supposed to find. She also loves the Curious George book Uncle Noel gave her for Christmas.
  • Activity: Alison's favorite thing to do is sing, sing, sing! She is in constant diva-mode, going from one song to the next. She loves her Kindermusik class with Ms. Jeanie and is always up for learning a new song! Most nights, she sings herself to sleep.
  • Newest obsession: Alison's newest OCD-quality is remembering what day of the week it is and what she is supposed to do. Now that she has learned the days of the week, she wakes up in the morning saying "Today is Sunday. On Sunday, we go to church. Tomorrow is Monday," etc. It's funny!

These are pictures from Christmas in Katy! Alison had a great time
with Mimi and Pops and Uncle Noel.
