Alison had her four month check-up today, and I am sitting here in awe of how fast time flies! Matt and I talk about how it seems as though Alison has always been a part of our family, yet, it has only been four months. Nurse Happy was our nurse again and she took Alison's measurements: 13.5 pounds and 25 inches long. Her pediatrician (who happens to be 3 months pregnant) is very pleased with Alison's continued growth and can't believe how well Alison can hold her head steady and turn over. Alison also got the same four shots that she had at her two month check-up. However, she was NOT so happy this time! The pediatrician convinced me to wait until she is 6 months old to start her on rice cereal in order to help prevent food allergies. I thought it would be fun to let you know all the things that Baby Alison can do now:
She can hold her head steady - no more "bobble head."
She can roll over from her stomach to her back and from her back to her side.
She can sleep through the night (HOORAY!)
She can sleep unswaddled.
She can reach out and grasp objects.
She can recognize her feet and has recently started to grab onto them.
She can laugh - especially at her daddy.
She can smile on demand.
She explores by putting EVERYTHING into her mouth.
I promise I will have more pictures next time!

We are waiting until Eli is 6 months before starting him on new foods too. I hope that encourages you to stick with it. It seems the older he gets Eli is more and more distracted while he eats and nursing him is more and more stressful. We have 1 more month to go! I can't wait!
