8 Weeks Old
Alison is 8 weeks old today! We celebrated by getting out of the house and running some errands. It is amazing how nothing can prepare you for packing up a baby to run a few "quick" errands. What would normally have only lasted 10 minutes, now takes 30 or 45 minutes. First, I have to convince Alison that her car seat is not evil. Once I get her distracted, by looking at the toys that dangle above her head, I can strap her into her car seat. Then, I make sure that the diaper bag (now known as my purse) has my wallet, cell phone, and plenty of diapers. Then, off we drive. Easy, right? But then I have to decide when we get to our destination if I want to bother with her stroller or if I can simply carry her in the car seat. Phew! It is a chore, but the alternative is being stuck in the house all day, everday, and that is not an option. Tomorrow will be another adventure, because we are leaving after Matt finishes with work to drive to College Station to see his parents. Alison's first road trip! I hope we all survive. There will be plenty of pictures next time... But for now, here is Alison at 8 weeks:
