On the road again...

Well, we did it! We survived our first road trip. Mom, Dad, and Baby Alison made it to College Station to see Matt's parents last weekend. As long as she was fed and had a dry diaper, Alison did not mind her carseat. For those of you who do not know (some reading this blog live in the UK), College Station is about a 3 and 1/2 hour drive South of where we live in Allen. However, since we have to stop to feed and change her, it now takes about 4 and 1/2 hours. Not too bad...

We had a wonderful time seeing Matt's parents. She was so much fun and had a great time cooing, smiling, and playing with her grandparents. Here are some great pictures:

It really was a wonderful trip and Alison got to sleep in her dad's old crib! She also enjoyed listening to the piano and reading books with her Grandmother. The next time we make this road trip will be at Thanksgiving and Alison will be 4 months old.

After all of the excitement from her first road trip, Alison had her two-month check-up on Monday morning. She now weighs 10 pounds 13 ounces and is 23 inches long! Her doctor said she looked great! And then... Alison had 4 vaccines. I was so impressed by how quick it all went and how brave Alison was. Our favorite nurse, Nurse Happy (yes, that is her real name) and another nurse got on either side of Alison, and they each gave her 2 shots - all within about 10 seconds. Then, Alison screamed...

She has finally recovered after a little help from Children's Tylenol and is looking forward to seeing my mom, her Mimi, this weekend.
